Ricky Hatton would want to fight to Salita

According to the Scott Gilfoid news, Dmitri Salita says, "I wants to fight Ricky Hatton of all people, and he wants to fight him in Israel".

Salita 28 years old, in the world Boxing Association he got a #1 position in his fighter life for first time previous year. I saw some of Salita’s fights before that and was dismayed that the WBA could have this guy ranked at #1 for Khan.

Salita said “I would like to fight in Israel, I would like to fight for a world title and I would like to fight Ricky Hatton, since I read that he is planning a comeback.”

Ricky Hatton represent on stage again because his far as I can tell, he has not saying about his return.

I don't knows that where Salita read this news may be she read this news in old boxing magazines where write something about Hatton. Perhaps He is not going to return but even if he did, the last person I think Hatton would want to fight is Salita.

Ricky Hatton Televise Canelo's Next Fight

Schaefer is hoping to finalize the details in the next seven to ten days. He said, "What's next for him is it looks like he's going to be fighting in early March, and I've been actually working with HBO on the date and coordinating the site. We would like him to fight in Los Angeles. And, you know, we would like to see if he could fight for the world title against the WBA champion. Another name that has been mentioned is Matthew Hatton as well. So we are going to see what we can put together. I would hope that within the next week or 10 days, that we have all of that firmed up. But he's definitely going to be back in early March."

Ricky Hatton Will Miss Oscar De La Hoya Fight

Boxer Ricky Hatton is improving very well since leaving the Priory Clinic five weeks ago.The Mancunian has wasted no time in getting himself fit again.

The 32 year old has decided and refused to rule out a comeback to the ring after overcoming depression and could be ready for at least one more big pay cheque before deciding to hang up his gloves for good.

After being knocked out in the second round by Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas 18 months ago it's hard to see Hatton ever becoming a champion, although he has dismissed the rumours that he will line up against Oscar De La Hoya.

“Oscar said he was angry over the story and I don’t blame him,” Hatton said today. I can say it is absolute rubbish. Nothing was ever said to me.

“As far as a comeback goes, I am still of the opinion I had 18 months ago. I have no ambition to come back.

“Although I feel the board was correct in punishing me, hopefully in time they will offer my licence back and I will be free to make a decision on my future. After all I have done in boxing, I have the right to retire Ricky Hatton and nobody else.”

Ricky Hatton Clears Over Drug Case

Boxer Ricky Hatton was caught sniffing the substance at a hotel, the boxer was filmed and after the police investigation it was found that the substance was a cocaine

But the good news above all is that Ricky Hatton will not face legal action over snaps of him snorting a white powder.

the ex-world champ told to officers when he quizzed Ricky Hatton that "he could not recall what the powder was"

The police confirmed that the case is still officially opened but no legal action would going to take place as no evidence was found yet that the substance was illegal or not

A witness contradicting the boxer is considered to be "highly unlikely".

After the images were published, he revealed he was battling depression and alcohol problems.

It was reported last week that he had left the clinic.

Hatton, known as The Hitman in his glory years, has vowed to concentrate on his career as a promoter and is unlikely to fight again.

five-year contract at Manchester United.

Ricky Hatton is off the hook from possible prosecution for cocaine abuse but has failed to reel in Wayne Rooney to his beloved Manchester City

It has been a mixed few days for the Hitman. First came the relief that police do not seem to have enough supporting evidence to bring charges following newspaper photographs of him snorting a substance.
Then the disappointment of Rooney's giant U-turn into a new five-year contract at Manchester United.
The two are good mates and are believed to have talked at length on holiday about the transfer which threatened to incite an outbreak of civil war in Manchester.
City have to be aware of the friendship between their most famous fan and the most potent English footballer of his generation

Ricky Hatton: Cancels tour dates

Ricky Hatton cancelled three dates tour by promoters of his An Evening with Ricky Hatton tour, and reasons are unclear it is understood the 31 year old is still no closer to deciding whether he will make a return to boxing. `Hatton, a former two weight world champion, has not fought since being knocked out in two rounds by Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas in May 2009 but he is out of the country on holiday and when he returns plans to continue his varied work outside of the ring.

At the Comedy Store Hatton will include appearing Store in Manchester in October to perform stand up and continuing his long term commitment to Hatton Promotions, his fight promotion arm.

In July Hatton renewed his boxing licence, provoking speculation that he would end his hiatus. If he were to do so, a potential super fight against Amir Khan, the WBA light welterweight champion has been mooted an encounter that could prove the most lucrative in British fight history.

Khan like to fight Hatton last Saturday. The Bolton boxer said: "I'm not sure if Ricky has retired but a fight would be huge."

Before the tour dates were cancelled Hatton had been due to seem with Frank Bruno, the former world heavyweight champion, in Preston, Sheffield and Wolverhampton next month.

Ricky Hatton: Would Hatton have beaten Tszyu on neutral ground?

By Scott Gilfoid: The June 2005 I currently watched bout between Ricky Hatton and then IBF light welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu, and I came away from the fight firmly believing that Tszyu would have beaten Hatton had this fight taken place on neutral territory rather than at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. Hatton was 26 at the time, and in the prime of his career, well before his one sided losses to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

In Manchester fighting at home, Hatton was able to hold and wrestle for prolonged periods of time against Tszyu without the referee breaking the action, giving warnings to Hatton or taking off points. Whenever there was any separation between the two fighters, Tszyu would clock Hatton with straight right hands and left hooks to the head. It was painfully obvious that Tszyu had the much better punching and boxing skills on that night, even though he was 35 years old at the time and past his best years of his career.
However, Tszyu wasn’t a wrestler and didn’t know how to pry Hatton off his body to keep him from hitting and holding, and dealing with his rough house tactics. I personally thought Hatton should have been penalized and disqualified by the 6th round for the constant holding, wrestling and holding hitting. By the 10th, I would have disqualified Hatton multiple times for all the fouls, yet he was still able to continue to wrestle like a champion.
I’ve seen this fight many times and I still can’t fathom how Hatton was able to get away with all the holding and wrestling without being disqualified. It’s actually too bad that this fight didn’t take place on neutral ground because I think Tszyu would have easily beaten Hatton on that night. Actually, it likely would have been too easy because Hatton would have likely been disqualified early in the fight for his holding and grappling had the fight taken place in another country which enforces rules against holding and wrestling in fights.
I would have loved to have seen Hatton fight Tszyu in a rematch in Australia or Russia. That would have been nice. The referee would have liked kept Hatton on the outside or at least prevented him from holding. At that point, the fight would come down to whoever the best puncher was between the two. I think Tszyu would have carved Hatton up. But can you imagine what that 35 year old version of Tszyu would have done to the now 31 year old Hatton? I’d put my money on Tszyu for an early knockout win, even if Hatton was able to wrestle and hold nonstop.

'I should've demanded tests', Ricky Hatton also doubts Pacquiao

A year after being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, Ricky Hatton British pug still swinging.
The National other day in an article that came out, Hatton said his biggest mistake against Pacquiao was not his lousy defense but his failure to demand blood testing.
“I could have had those rules, but I wasn’t bothered. Maybe in hindsight, I should have done,” said Hatton, who went down against Pacquiao like he was never to get up again.
But he did, after laying on the canvas for quite some time, and a year and a month after that night in Las Vegas he’s raising some doubts against the reigning pound for pound champion.
“I must admit, I fancied my chances against Manny,” he told The National.
And it’s only now that he’s claiming that Pacquiao, who had gone undefeated for over five years now, and had jumped five divisions higher, could be into some performance enhancing drugs.
“A few years ago he was getting knocked down by little men like [Juan Manuel] Marquez, then all of a sudden he is knocking out Oscar de la Hoya, myself and [Miguel] Cotto, who are powerhouses in comparison.
Ricky Hatton said,“It is a little bit . He could be on what Floyd (Mayweather) is accusing him of [performance-enhancing substances], or it could be that he is just a great fighter who has improved. We will never know”.
The Mayweathers have aired similar thoughts and was hurled by Pacquiao to court.
Hatton also said that if and when the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight pushed through, the undefeated American, the first one to deal Hatton a loss in the ring, should have the upperhand.
“I think Floyd is too good defensively. He is so hard to hit, and I think he might ultimately just have a few too many tricks up his sleeves for Manny,” said Hatton, who left some nice words for Pacquiao.
“I would like to think Manny would win, because I have a lot of time for him. He is a great man and a great person. I think they are both greats, no matter what they do now. Whoever won a fight between the two of them would become an all time great,” he added.
Hatton said he thinks that the fight everybody wants to see can be done.
“Floyd is of the opinion he may possibly be taking something illegal, and that is why he is asking for certain tests to be done. It is a grey area for people, and they are puzzled as to what is going on. They just want to see the fight.
“Manny will say Floyd is running scared of him, asking him to do certain tests, Floyd will say he is guilty. But I think it will happen eventually,” Hatton was quoted as saying.

Ricky Hatton needs a fight his demons, says CEO of Hatton Promotions

Ricky Hatton “has demons” and wants a scheduled fight to find his discipline, Gareth Williams, CEO of Hatton Promotions, has told Telegraph Sport.
Williams also claimed that if Hatton decides to make a comeback, he is stillness the biggest box office draw in the country, outside of a heavyweight unification contest between David Haye and one of the Klitschko brothers.
“The more time I spend with Ricky, the more I think he will fight again. I never thought I’d say this but I think it is safer for him to fight because he needs the discipline. He’s an ‘all or nothing’ guy,” said Williams.
Williams also disclosed that Hatton has been back in training in the gym, and took part in a charity football match last weekend between a celebrity England team and a Rest Of The World XI. “He was training last week as if he was in the first week of training with a fight coming up in three months’ time,” he said.
Hatton has not fought since he was knocked out in two rounds by Manny Pacquiao in a Las Vegas ring 13 months ago.
“If he had a fight in four months’ time, he’d have five per cent body fat and would be in phenomenal shape. He needs a target, he needs focus," Williams said.
“I would never push Ricky to fight, it makes no difference to me personally - I just get on with promoting his company. Boxing is an all or nothing sport, you do not have the benefit of being substituted or bowling slower, as with football or cricket, you cannot even play at a lower level.
"If you are not 100 per cent fit, the consequences can be devastating. Ricky has always said that only he will know if and when he will fight again. I will support whatever decision he makes.
"There are plenty of demons left there after the Manny Pacquiao fight, and in Ricky’s mind, there is unfinished business. He was definitely not prepared correctly for the Pacquiao fight.
“Michael Katsidis would be a perfect fight for him. He’s a big name and it would be a good fight for Ricky, and it would be a good fight in England that would work on Sky Box Office.”
Williams insisted Hatton is still the biggest box office fighter in England.
"I obviously spend a lot of time with him and this last 12 months we have visited America, South Africa, China and Australia. The amount of recognition and attention he gets is phenomenal," he said.
“Whatever happens he has achieved so much. If he never fights again, he will go down as one of the great British fighters, and the good thing is that he does not have to fight again for financial reasons, and not many boxers can say that.”

Ricky Hatton denies boxing retirement rumours.

Former double world champion Ricky Hatton says rumours that he is retiring are false and insists he will announce it himself when he is ready to give up boxing.

The Hitman has been telling Tina Daheley from the Chris Moyles show that he does not want to fight Amir Khan but only because they are friends.

Hatton, 31, was in Dagenham, east London, over the weekend to support his brother Matthew, who scored a unanimous points victory over veteran Italian Gianluca Branco to claim the vacant European welterweight title.

Amir Khan urges Ricky Hatton to retire from boxing

Britain's Amir Khan has urged former champion Ricky Hatton not to continue his boxing career.
"I think he should retire," said Khan, who is preparing for his American debut with a WBA light-welterweight defence against Paulie Malignaggi on 15 May.
"He's beaten some great fighters and the only two he has lost to have been pound-for-pound best in the world.
"He has the respect of the British fans and boxers and I think he should hang his gloves up and relax now."
Hatton first retired after losing to Floyd Mayweather in 2007 but returned to the ring a year later.
He has not fought since being knocked out in the second round in Las Vegas by Filipino Manny Pacquiao last May, but announced plans for a return in 2010 last December.
Malignaggi was one of Hatton's victims but has warned Khan he has raised his game since that defeat in 2008.
Malignaggi offers to fight Hatton
The American, stopped by Hatton in the 11th round, won a rematch with Juan Diaz in December to re-establish his credentials as a world title contender.

Gym-shy Ricky Hatton is heading for a heavy fall

Ricky Hatton runs the risk of another embarrassment if he makes a comeback without changing his training methods. Photograph: by Al Bello/Getty Images
Ricky Hatton said before Christmas he was going to take a holiday in Australia with his girlfriend Jennifer and come back early in January to start getting in shape for a comeback.
His timetable was centred on June against an opponent yet to be signed, and he was going to start by ripping off the several stones of flab he'd piled on since Manny Pacquiao knocked him out in May. He would follow that with a 12-week training camp to get back into fighting trim.
Well, Ricky has either changed his mind about a comeback or has got his dates mixed up. Sitting ringside in Stoke last Friday to oversee his promotion on Sky, he looked like the very substantial promoter he has become. If he weighed anything less than 14 stones, it would not be by much. He didn't look as if he'd been anywhere near a gym except to check on his fighters.
I spoke to a leading boxing nutritionist about Hatton's training methods and lifestyle during the week and he is convinced the fighter is heading for a heavy fall.
"You cannot treat your body like that," he said. "Just taking the weight off will drain him. As you near a fight, you should be gaining strength, not worrying about having to get rid of that much excess weight. Ideally, fighters who are active should not be more than a few pounds over their fighting weight at any time. You should not be losing much more than a pound a week in any circumstances, let along preparing for a fight. And I'm not convinced by Ricky's training methods, relying so much on supplements to both lose weight and gain strength. It is not natural. And anything that is not natural is no good for a fighter's body in the long run."
This is an old theme, of course. But still Ricky will not listen. He has the affection of so many fans and is desperate to please them. He can do that by either abandoning the habits of a life time – which is not going to happen – or quitting the ring right now. And I don't think that is going to happen, either.

Ricky Hatton likely to make comeback at Manchester's MEN Arena

Ricky Hatton's comeback looks set to take place in his old stomping ground of Manchester's MEN Arena.

Hatton was hoping to make an emotional return to his beloved Eastlands where he packed in a post-war British record crowd of 55,000 to see him outpoint Juan Lazcano in May 2008.
But he has run into problems trying to secure the stadium for his proposed fight date in the last week of May-first week of June.

Old Trafford is an obvious non-starter and Lancashire's cricketing home across the road is also not viable.

That leaves the MEN as the Hitman's only real option in Manchester and he hasn't fought there since he famously vanquished Kostya Tszyu in May 2005 in the highlight of his career.
Hatton used to pack out the 22,000-capacity MEN regularly when he was the WBU light-welterweight champion before his split with Frank Warren
