Ricky Hatton to name a year after the European Promoter as a the promoter of the first major awards. Hatton Promotions President on Friday night a festive ceremony in Dublin descended prominent accolade. Former two-weight world champion Ricky said: “It is fantastic that my company has won this after just two-and-a-half years promoting.
“We have forged an excellent relationship with the EBU in that time and through our fighters being their champions. It has helped my brother Matthew and Ryan Rhodes earn world title fights.
“When I started boxing I wanted to be the best and it is the same as a promoter. We still have a long way to go, but being honoured as European Promoter of the Year shows how far Hatton Promotions have come.”
Hatton Promotions CEO Gareth Williams said: “I am honoured that Hatton Promotions have picked up this award.
“In a short space of time, our fighters have won awards at every level. The only title we are waiting for is world title and hopefully Ryan Rhodes will deliver that on Saturday when he challenges WBC light-middleweight champion Saul Alvarez.
“Our philosophy is to deliver opportunities for our boxers. It is up to the fighters to take their chance”
